What I read in a week June 28th through July 4th

I havent done a weekly reading track in a while and started it up again last week 😍! I had some great reads, I'm currently working on a really thick horror book, The Calamities, which I am LOVING and it comes out in August. I finished The Bridge Kingdom series which was so bittersweet and I knocked out a few ARCs too. Overall such a fun week! (Update: I have since finished The Calamities yesterday and it was amazing.) ❓️How was your reading last week? Or what are you currently reading? #whatireadinaweek #bookstagrammer #bookdragon #arcreader #bookish

Yes, Chef by Grace Reilly Review!
Yes, Chef by Grace Reilly Review!

Thank you to @avonbooks for this gifted physical ARC and eARC 🩷❤️! Review for Yes, Chef by Grace Reilly! I loved this story of Jack and Poppy, I loved the ADHD representation and how they both had different experiences with the disorder. My heart breaks for everyone who struggles to get an accurate diagnosis purely because of them being not male. I also felt so deeply for Jack and his foster care experiences, his struggles with feeling not worthy or constantly unwanted. Despite having people in his corner that do in fact want him deeply. This was an emotional read in that aspect for sure. And with Poppy and her struggles with her family not fully respecting her or understanding that things don't come as easily to her as they might for other people without ADHD. I struggled with liking her family throughout the entirety of the book. The romance between Jack and Poppy was really fun, they made sense together and the way that they fell for each other was sweet and spicy and it was great. I definitely recommend this for people who like a spicy and fun but also emotionally tugging read. I flew through this, I read it in just a little over a day, I think it's worth the pre-order or purchase when it releases which is July 21st! Also some parts really do feel like youre in an episode of The Bear! *This ARC was given by Avon Books in physical and eARC form through NetGalley, all opinions are my own.* ❓️What was your last exciting read? Any genre, I'm just trying to widen my list of books to try! #arcreader #arcreview #bookrecs #romancebooks #yeschef

Thank you to @avonbooks and @harpervoyagerus for this gifted ARC 🥹🩷! Review for The Ballad of Falling Dragons by Sarah A. Parker. When The Moon Hatched is one of my absolute favorite books of all time. I have been looking forward to The Ballad of Falling Dragons for so long, as many people have, and it lived up to every single expectation and hope that I had. I cried so many tears, the writing is so insanely beautiful, and the story progressed in just the most perfect way. If it's been a while since you read the first book, I would absolutely recommend a refresher for the best impact, just so you have all the players fresh in your mind. This second book was incredibly intense. It ripped my heart to shreds and had the most beautiful and beautifully sad moments. We waited a long time for this book and I am honestly glad it was this long of a wait. I feel like it was so thoughtful and thorough and so emotionally hard hitting that it needed to have that extra time. I'm leaving this as vague as I can be while still trying to convey how epic this was. If you love fantasy, beautifully written fantasy, pick up this series. I just can't rave about it enough. This was about a 700 page book, and I took my time with it, I dropped all my other reads and focused solely on this for five solid days. I'm so glad I did, it hit so hard. I'm writing this review fresh after finishing and my brain is just reeling. But if you take nothing else from this review, just know that it was completely amazing in every way. This releases May 19th! *This ARC was given by Avon Books and Harper Voyager through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.* ❓️What is your most anticipated book this year? Or what is your current read? (Those 2 edges that look almost identical are different for When The Moon Hatched, one is a signed copy from Harry Hartog Bookseller and one is the Barnes and Noble Exclusive. The coloring is just *slightly* different between them.) #theballadoffallingdragons #arcreader #arcreview #bookrecs #fantasybooks

Flatlay Friday 💜🩷 but make it books Im super excited about for when I catch up on ARCs and get super selective for my time! My goal for the last half of 2026 is to prioritize my own shelves with the sprinkle of ARCs that I have high anticipation for. Instead of a ton of ARCs and a sprinkle of my tbr. It needs to be reversed for me for a while! Some of these have been on my TBR for so long and I am so excited to get back to prioritizing my shelves soon. I have 5 more NetGalley ARCs and then things get way way more manageable for me. I am proud of myself for even withdrawing the requests I had on NetGalley that I wasnt "dying" to read. Growth! ❓️What is one book on your shelf that you are wanting to read but it keeps getting pushed back? Or what's your current read? #flatlayfriday #prettybooks #fantasy #fictionbooks #arcreader
